A denture is a plate with a number of false teeth on it and can be all plastic (acrylic) or acrylic with a light metal base. The latter one is less bulky, more secure and stronger but is more expensive.
Whilst conventional dentures have traditionally been made from metal bases and acrylic teeth, Valplast dentures make use of a nylon thermoplastic which has several benefits over conventional braces. They are usually custom- made and then cemented into place. They are similar to a crown, but smaller, covering less surface area of the tooth. Inlays and onlays can be made out of porcelain composite (white in colour) or gold where strength is paramount.
